Many of the Boys remained in the UK.
Making a life in post-war Britain adter the Boys left the hostels was hard and they recieved financial help from the Central British Fund for a limited period.
The Boys found themselves confronted with disbelief if they recounted their story and were greeted with hostility in the Jewish community. Oscar Friedmann employed a small group of cunsellors who would talk to the Boys and work as intermediaries between their landlords and employers – but the unit only functioned for a short period between 1946-1947.
One of them was Helen Bamber.
The CBF did not encourage all the Boys to continue their education
