Jacubivic was born on 7 March 1933 in Maly Trakan, near Košice, in eastern Czechoslovakia.
Jacubovic was a member of a group of Holocaust survivors known as the Boys, despite the fact the group consisted of over 200 girls.
The Boys were teenage and child-Holocaust survivors, who were brought to the UK after World War II for rest and rehabilitation.
Members of the Boys were held in Nazi labour and concentration camps and used as slave labourers. They had also survived World War II in hiding or as lone children.
She came from an orthodox family.
Her parents were Ignaz and Lina.
Wartime
Jacubovic was deported to the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration and extermination camp with her family. He parents died there. It is not known what happened to Jacubovic after she arrived in Auschwitz, other than she was selected for slave labour.
After the war she returned to Maly Tarkan. The details of her return home are not known.
She spent time in Prague after the liberation and came to the UK on with the fifth group of the Boys in April 1948.
She used the name Ickovic on her immigration papers.

Jacubovic was unwell in the UK and wished to return home to Czechoslovakia to rejoin her brothers and sister, which she did in September 1948.
