The Committee for the Care of the Concentration Camp Children

The Committee for the Care of the Concentration Camp Children was founded in 1945. It was one of the organisations that worked with the Central British Fund to care for the Boys in the UK.

The Boys were teenage and child-Holocaust survivors, who were brought to the UK after the war for rest and rehabilitation.

The Committee for the Care of the Concentration Camp Children was established as part of a coordinated effort to provide rehabilitation and resettlement for the Boys.

Chaired by Leonard Montefiore, the Committee worked in close collaboration with the Central British Fund (CBF), the Jewish Refugee Committee, and the British government. Its primary responsibilities included securing housing, arranging medical care, and overseeing the emotional and psychological rehabilitation of the children.

The Committee helped to organise hostels and care homes across the UK. It also liaised with local Jewish communities to facilitate integration and long-term support for the Boys.
